Phoenix Marketcity Kurla hosts the Grand Finale of India’s first Dance Week on Bollywood Chartbusters

Mumbai, 30th April 2014: The audience at Phoenix Marketcity, Kurla was enthralled at the finale of India's first Dance Week which was celebrated with much pomp and show. The winners of the series, Kadam & Raina Parekh a couple from Ahmedabad who showcased a splendid Indian classical dance won an international trip to Thailand for 7 days and 6 nights. The couple was presented the prize by the brand ambassador of the event, Sandip Soparrkar and awarded by yester year Bollywood actress, Vidya Sinha.

The Dance Week that got an amazing response had participants coming from various cities like Pune, Nashik, Jammu, Kanpur, etc. The other winners in each dance category were also awarded with amazing vouchers and exciting gift hampers by television celebrities like Jassi Kaur, Alicia Raut, Abhisheikh Avasti, Shibani Kashyap, Rajneesh Duggal, Pragya Yadav and Rohit Verma who added the extra oomph and glamour to the evening.

The five daylong celebration of International Dance day concluded with the most popular dance style in India- Bollywood. The event began with some sizzling Bollywood performances by Sandip Soparkar’s team which really had some signature Bollywood steps. The spectators witnessed an amazing dance performance by Sandip Soparrkar who danced with the under privileged children of Smile Foundation on a Tera hi Jalwa. The crowd swayed their hands and whistled at every move. Followed by this touching performance, the audience saw some mixed performances by contestants on Bollywood dance form and some performances by Sandip Soparrkar’s team where they showcased some interesting international forms of dance.

The mall celebrated India’s First Dance Week for the very first time in the city from 25th to 29th April 2014 that saw participants coming from different parts of the city to perform on various genres of dance forms on different days. Each performance at the festival was judged and trained by none other than Sandip Soparrkar, one of the leading choreographers of our country and other judge panelists- Dipak Mazumdar, Vijayshree Chaudhary and Brian Fernandes.
