Earth Day celebrated at Inorbit Mall, Vashi & Malad on 23 March 2013
On the occasion of Earth Hour, Inorbit Malls Pvt. Ltd, the pioneers of mall culture in India took a step forward to educate their patrons on environmental conservation.
Along with switching off all the façade and decorative lights between 8:30-9:30 pm on Saturday, 23rd March, Inorbit Malls also organized workshops on waste management and recycling. Workshops were conducted focusing on reducing; reusing and recycling of things have no utility value.
These workshops were exclusively tailored to bring about awareness on effective waste management by recycling. Inorbit joined hands with Priyanka Khandekar (a teacher by profession) to teach the patrons to make cloth utilities like yoga mat, door mat, coasters, bags from old clothes and planters, vase, flowers, a pen stand, a box, covers etc out of plastic material. Patrons were also invited to drop in their dry garbage, which were to be recycled, in recycle bins placed in the malls.
Apart from the energy conservation initiatives, Inorbit is also known for its marketing activities that involve the audience. Inorbit has always been in the forefront when it comes to such activities, they have organized self defense workshops for women, rain harvesting workshops, cooking classes by Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor etc in the past. They have organized series of community initiatives where they engage with the patrons from the catchment and work towards creating a value add to their experience.
