Using loopy, low-tempo beats, and slow electronica, producer-guitarist Suryakant Sawhney creates Hindi glitch hop you'll be happy to dance to. Lifafa is Sawhney’s solo project, but you might know the 29-year-old better as the vocalist for Peter Cat Recording Co. With Lifafa, he takes a route away from the band’s alt-rock anthems and leans towards relatable, retro Bollywood-inspired lyrics and a kitschy overlay.

What's the story of Lifafa?
The frontman of Peter Cat Recording Co., Suryakant Sawhney, started Lifafa a few years ago as a solo project. As much for his listeners as for him, it was part of a quest to find his identity. He says, "We are, after all, constantly changing, even if no factor apart from time has progressed." And nobody could possibly call out Lifafa out on that front, because evolving is something he's absolutely great at, at least when it comes to his music. His sophomore album, 'Jaago' was almost five years in the making. Five years is a long time, and Suryakant has indubitably been through a lot, both personally and musically, in this period. Now that the quest is over, Lifafa has found himself.
