Palladium, the country’s foremost luxury and lifestyle destination presents yet another ART masterpiece under its property, “Art at Palladium” which brings Art into Public Spaces. “Art at Palladium” is an initiative by Palladium wherein, popular and new artists are given a platform to showcase their work, while giving its shoppers a first-hand experience of art outside 'traditional gallery spaces.
In this edition of “Art at Palladium” artist Sangeeta Babani presents her art work called, “The Lost Art- The Art of Imperfect Progress”. The art work by the talented artist will be available for public viewing starting 11th November at Palladium until 30th November, 8 pm onwards
The Lost Art - "The Art of Imperfect Progress" by Sangeeta Babani is a massive installation of 18ft in height, hand painted and articulately designed to give it a larger than life impression. The art installation promises to take you on a trip down memory lane letting you revive the memories of technology that we grew up on but are insignificant today. Her work pays homage to the good old days and to the things which may not seem cutting-edge today, but we definitely shouldn’t discount their place in history as a forerunner for all of the technology that wouldn’t exist today without its dinosaur ancestry.
If we were to actually compare the way we live today and how life was a few years back, we will definitely notice how much technology has transformed our lives. It has given us a lot of freedom and also a lot of ways to save on resources and time but we do not ever think of what we are losing out.
Commenting on the same Sangeeta says, “Studies reveal that today physiological changes are occurring in humans who drink deeply from the technological well. As computers and the Internet become more and more ubiquitous, our brains are changing to compensate for the change in reading and memory habits. So the question we have to ask ourselves is...Is technology truly evolving us?”
Palladium is happy to showcase ‘The Lost Art’ and believes that Art in every form compliments Palladium. Mr. Rajendra Kalkar, President (West), The Phoenix Mills Ltd says, “Currently, being one amongst the much frequented places of public congregation and with its reputation for bringing the city the best – be it the best brands or great installations, Palladium is happy to associate with Sangeeta Babani and shall continue to support such talented artists through ‘Art at Palladium’.

About Sangeeta Babani
A self taught artist, Sangeeta, was fortunate to be raised in Spain a country with rich cultural heritage. It was this Spanish art and culture that she imbibed when growing-up, while her initiation into Indian art and culture began when she settled in Mumbai after marriage. She firmly believes that art influences you to think beyond imagination. Greatly influenced by two wonderful artists Goya and Velazquez, she finds their figurative work very impactful. But for her paintings she draws inspiration and explores another world. Her paintings reflect her world, her fascination for people, plants and color. They are the materialization of her aesthetic sense and emotive tensions, which are the source of her creative energies. She pours her heart, her soul and all her passion in her paintings to capture every moment that goes by. Painting she says has become a language for her.
