Mumbai, March, 2014: With the city being flocked by women centric events in the first week of March, Dr. Haresh Mehta, a leading interventional cardiologist has organized free health checkup camps for women across the city. Healthy women will shape the future of the country and Dr. Mehta hopes to spread this key message amongst masses.

The medical checkup camps aim to provide primary healthcare services to women at a convenient time and location especially for the working group whose health is being neglected in today's fast life. Cases of thyroid, osteoporosis, heart problems etc in women in the age group of 20-50 have seen a steep rise in the recent years. Through these camps Dr. Mehta wishes to empower women to take self initiatives and gain self confidence by improving their access to knowledge, skills and health care services as well as cater to their health issues for a sustainable health improvement.

The health checkup camps will be organized between 2pm to 6 pm at Infiniti mall Andheri, Infiniti mall Malad and Dr. Mehta’s clinic on 7th, 8th and 9th March respectively.

Spanning a career of over 15 years in Interventional Cardiology, Dr Haresh Mehta already has over 10000 independent interventional cases to his credit. He has been associated with several leading hospitals in India which includes Lilavati Hospital, Hinduja Hospital, SL Raheja Fortis, Hinduja Healthcare, BSES Hospital, Cumballa Hill, Breach Candy, Nanavati Hospital, S.R. Hospital and Saifee Hospital among others during his career. He is currently also attached to the few of these topnotch institutions.

A profile of Dr. Haresh Mehta

Dr. Haresh Mehta is also a visiting faculty at University Hospital, Bern, Switzerland and Fellow, Department of Coronary and Peripheral Interventions, Lennox Hill Hospital, New York, USA.

Besides being a specialist in Angioplasty, Dr Mehta is one of the few Interventional Cardiologist performing percutaneous closure of congenital heart defects e.g. Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), Patent Foramen Ovale and Post Infarct VSD Closure.

Because of his expertise in Interventional Cardiology, he has been invited as a faculty for international and national conferences. In addition to this, he has also presented papers at international conferences like the American Heart Association, Transcatheter Therapeutics (Washington), European Society of Cardiology, Swiss Cardiology Society, Cardiology Society of India.
