Celebrating Womanhood and its various faces with the tunes of humanity

In 2011-12, 207 Mumbai women were raped and 552 molested, making this a staggering number! In the past year, our 'safe' city has seen a rise of 15% and 14% in cases of rape and molestation respectively, as compared to the previous year; 430 women registered cases saying their modesty was outraged. High Street Phoenix, Rock For A Cause & SNEHA (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action) dedicate the March edition of Thursday Jam-ups to the movement of stopping all forms of violence against women. Commemorating such enthusiasm, 7th March will see performances by “The Kanchan Daniel Band” & artist Alisha Pais from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Courtyard, High Street Phoenix.

As the world rejoices the spirit of Women’s Day on 8th March, Thursday Jam-Ups shall set the tone of womanhood and its various enthralling facets to the new world. The evening is bound to galore with the tunes and talent of new age women and the celebration of their presence in each of our lives. Alisha Pais is a talented singer songwriter from Mumbai, with rich powerful husky vocals and guitar who has performed at popular platforms like NH7, Storm & Live from the Console. On the contrary, as a part of a Bombay based band that plays the blues, indulges in some jazz and belts out some soul and funk, vocalist Kanchan Daniel shall touch the strings of humanity with her talented team of boys – Sultanali Barodawala, Mukesh Lobo and Aditya Bhide.
