INDIA’S FIRST ZERO WASTAGE FOOD FESTIVAL – THE ‘ITSY BITSY FOOD FESTIVAL’
Events in Mumbai - INDIA’S FIRST ZERO WASTAGE FOOD FESTIVAL – THE ‘ITSY BITSY FOOD FESTIVAL’ ON 19TH & 20TH MARCH 2016
~In an age where food wastage has become the bane of the day, the festival will subtly highlight the need to reduce food wastage~
Mumbai, 15th March 2016: This weekend, the foodies of Mumbai are invited to the favorite lifestyle destination of the city, High Street Phoenix in association with Mumbai Foodie and Paprika Idea Labs (Time Out) to try some of the most scrumptious appetizers at the Itsy Bitsy Food Festival that will be held on 19th and 20th March 2016.
Celebrating the smaller things in life, High Street Phoenix, in association with Paprika Idea Labs and Mumbai Foodie, Itsy Bitsy, India's first Zero Wastage Food Festival, will have 30 food stations offering bite sized delectable portions of the city’s favorite food brands such as Ellipsis Bakery, Havana, Di Bella, Brewbot, Shahi Durbar, Loco Chino, Papacream, Kavo, Waffle House, Tokyo Treat, Star Anise Patisserie, Milkshake & Co and a lot more!
At the Itsy Bitsy Food Fest, food stations will create bite sized portions of their regular menu allowing people to try out a lot more than just a couple of dishes thereby giving a chance to try a larger variety. Itsy Bitsy is also India's first Zero Wastage Food Festival where all non-reusable material from each food station will be donated to Robin Hood Army, an organization that supplies surplus food from restaurants to the underprivileged, and Roti Bank team.
Itsy Bitsy will be a festival that will be more than just offering Food. Watch out for music performances, art installations, poetries and Talk sessions. Artists such as Becky Fernandes, Siddhant Vernekar, Aarifah Rebello, Kalyani Sakkarwal will perform on solo music sets while Rochelle D’Silva will recite a poem at the Open Mic poetry. Also enjoy a stand-up comedy act by city’s well known Improv Comedy Mumbai which kick-started their performances at various venues in 2009 filling the gap for Improvisational Theatre in the country.
There will also be talks on reducing food wastage by two organizations who are experts in the field. We have Roti Bank talking on Saturday and the team that started the Robin Hood Army in Mumbai on Sunday.
To add to this, and given that on the 19th of March, India plays against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, High Street Phoenix and Itsy Bitsy will screen the excitement at the Courtyard.
Commenting on hosting this unique food festival, Rajendra Kalkar, President (West), The Phoenix Mills Limited, said, “We are glad to be a part of curating this unique concept of Itsy Bitsy food festival. While helping the brands showcase a variety of their cuisines through bite sized portions, we are also proud to be campaigning the cause for eliminating food-wastage.”
