Mumbai, January 02, 2015: Hosting performances across diverse musical genres like Indie, Contemporary, Pop and Alternative Rock, Sufi, Jazz, Contemporary Pop, Blues, Hip Hop and Rap, High Street Phoenix is ensuring its patrons have a musical beginning to the new year. The most famous name on the roster is recent rap sensation KRSNA, a spirited rapper from New Delhi who is known for his socio political content and the ability to mix conscious lyricism with pop sounds. Performing on 9th January at the Courtyard of High Street Phoenix, KRSNA’s popular track “Last Night” reached #10 on VH1’s India Top 10 in 2014. His latest single “Sell Out” is already on its way to becoming a chartbuster, gaining considerable airtime on VH1.

Joining KRSNA on the 9th of Jan is DJ Sharan Punjabi, an upcoming name on the commercial electro-house music scene of the city. Sharan has played at popular venues like blue FROG, The Big Bang Bar & Café, Boveda, and He Said She Said’s sundown sessions and he will be playing to the audience in the space outside PVR.

Music enthusiasts who are keen to listen to some mellifluous covers of yesteryear stalwarts like Whitney Houston, Madonna & Cyndi Lauper, should watch singer, song-writer Melanie Duggal in action at the Palladium Atrium on 7th January. With a professional career spanning over 15 years and 400 performances, Melanie has performed for Indo French Chambers of Commerce, Spanish Embassy & JBL Files in the past.

10th of January will see performances by Tejas & Rahul (Spanish Classic Rock, Covers & Fusion accompanied by a host of percussion instruments like Guitar, Keyboards, Melodica, Harmonica & Didgeridoo) at the Courtyard, The Autorickshaw Trio at Palladium and DJ Zenith (known for electronic beats, syncopated synths & funky vocal chops) at Skyzone.
