About Laxmi Bomb
From the land of salt-pans and straight into the city, comes a local sound that provides the perfect foil as the city background. Meet ‘Laxmi Bomb’, a newly formed electro-pop outfit from ‘Bombay’, because that’s where the music comes from. A place when the city had a better name and sang a different song.
The theme is reflective of those times and represented through a young woman’s imagery. A traveller of the many landscapes in a city called ‘Hॐ’, the title of the debut EP. It meanders through the ‘happy-hustle-bustle’ and the ‘eerie calm’ in equal capacity. With classic Hindi cinema motifs and pop-disco beats thrown in with candid measure. Listen to Hॐ here: www.laxmibomb.com
And ‘Hॐ’ has already been weaved into the fabric of the city. Having featured in various pockets that include ‘The Scene at Blue Frog’, MTV India Anniversary Special, the ‘House of Vans edition at Sitara Studio & D’Bell’. Not to mention festivals like ‘Ragasthan’ and the ‘Sony Music Conference’ in Kerala 2014. Watch the LIVE performance of ‘Pari By Night’: http://goo.gl/HEaoSC
As for national television, a music video for the song ‘Major Major’ has been aired on 9XO as the ‘artist of the month’ with an exclusive interview appearing on Viacom’s CNBC TV-18 too. You can watch the video for ‘Major Major’ here: http://goo.gl/hx9nsH
On another frequency, the music has been a regular feature on the radio show ‘Indie Thursday hosted by RJ Teejay Sidhu for Radio One 94.3 FM and RJ Sucharita Tyagi for Radio City 91.1 FM. You can also listen to the full-length interview with Teejay Sidhu on this link: http://goo.gl/yodHq5
Laxmi has also received her fair share of free press with leading publications such as The Indian Express, Times of India, Bombay Times, Mid-Day, HT Café, NH7 amongst others bringing her story to the forefront. Here are some press links to peruse through:

Laxmi is unique and comfortable in her own identity. As the review in the ‘Mid-Day’ would put it, “a breath of fresh air in a city with its fair share of imitators”.
