Events in Mumbai - High Street Phoenix hosts an exclusive performance by Dharavi Rocks on 10 October 2014, 8.pm onwards

Come Friday, High Street Phoenix will have you swaying to the amazing sounds of Dharavi Rocks. As part of the Midnight Campaign starting this month, the mall will play host to the well-known music group from Mumbai this Friday, 10 October starting 8 pm at the Courtyard.

Dharavi Rocks is a joint educational music and dance project initiated by Acorn Foundation, an NGO that works with slum children and ragpickers. The group believes that music can be educational and can make a difference in people’s lives.

So come on over and join these talented Junk Percussionists to rejoice the spirit of music.

About Dharavi Rocks:

Dharavi Rocks is a joint educational music and dance project initiated by Acorn Foundation, an NGO that works with slum children and ragpickers. The group believes that music can be educational and can make a difference in people’s lives.

The NGO was founded with the mission to give slum children a voice by initiating them into music, bringing positive and happy creative experiences into their lives and creating a bond between communities. They believe that music can make a difference.

Since their inception in April 2010, they have organised many music workshops and performances with Indian and foreign musicians, in The Maharashtra Nature Park in Dharavi and at the blueFROG club in Mumbai.
