SPIN A CHARKHA TO CELEBRATE GANDHI JAYANTI WITH HIGH STREET PHOENIX

The best way to find you is to lose yourself in the service of others – the lines quoted by the Father of our Nation. High Street Phoenix pays tribute to the torch bearer of our country’s freedom struggle for the third year in a row. The popular destination center celebrates Gandhi Jayanti by organizing a Charkha Workshop and Book Sale by Gandhi Book Centre and a dance performance by the children of the Nalanda Foundation on 2nd October 2013 from 12 pm to 7 pm at the Courtyard.

The day will start off with a charkha workshop by Gandhi Book Store where one can learn to spin the wheel. There will be a simultaneous display of books from the same store which is located at Grant Road, and is one of the oldest book stores in the city housing only books based on the Mahatma. The celebration will also see a dance performance by the children of Nalanda Foundation as a mark of respect. The Nalanda Foundation was established to assist children with Learning Difficulties by providing an effective educational infrastructure, including related support services.
