A small brief on each band to pique your interest:
If you have heard The Koniac Net’s debut album “One last monsoon” or watched This Time Around, Chasing After You or Bricks on Youtube, you will see a band that reminds you of international artists like Smashing Pumpkins, Toadies, Death Cab For Cutie, Matt Pond PA, Marcy Playground, and even Chris Isaac & the Deftones. With “One last monsoon” played in 31 countries across 140 radio stations, a feature on VH1 Music Diaries, title of the first Indian band to be the Runners-Up of the iconic Hard Rock Rising competition globally, The Koniac Net, performing on 20th March, is one act you definitely don’t want to miss.
On the 21st, a young and gifted band from Pune called Run Pussy Run will entice audiences with their melancholic, slightly risqué music. Led by songwriter Gowri, the band is a freak funk project with music comprising mostly of original compositions, and a mish mash of freak folk, RnB and funk. The band first performed at Ragasthan in February 2014 and has since played at The Secret Garden Festival, Swig and High Spirits in Pune, Bandra Flea Market, The Little Door in Mumbai and is all set to stun audiences at High Street Phoenix this Saturday.
To bid the weekend a final adieu and unwind before the week begins, the mall will have Rang perform their musical wonders. The ‘Hindie’ band composes its own music entirely and does not stick to a particular genre. Modern music with an Indian element, the band is sure to tap into the pulse of both the urban crowd and the masses with their sensation, soulful music.
Indie/Alternative Rock for the true rock fans, folk, RnB and funk for the soft souls and ‘Hindie’ music that goes straight to the heart, this weekend High Street Phoenix gives you music that will definitely leave you wanting more topped with a heavy dose of the latest in couture
