Mumbai gets set to experience Cool Japan once again

Mumbai is all set to witness the fourth edition of the largest Japanese culture & cuisine event in India, ‘Cool Japan Festival’ from 6 th to 8th February 2015. This season, the Cool Japan Festival is all about Japan tourism, more brands from Japan and exciting Japanese food to add to the celebrations at the Courtyard of High Street Phoenix, Lower Parel, Mumbai.

Cool Japan Festival 2015 will host cultural performances like Taiko Drums by Delhi Wadaiko, Kendo - Modern Japanese Martial arts demonstration by Mumbai-Kendo Club, Bollywood dances by young Japanese students and many exciting Anime performances

“This year our theme is ‘Travel to Japan’ where visitors will be able to experience Japan closer than ever before, right here in Mumbai” commented Mr. Hakuei Kosato, Director of Maido Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., the company that organizes Cool Japan Festival.

Like every year, one of the main attractions remains the Japanese street food festival, Washoku, offering a taste of Japan with authentic delicacieslike Sushi, Yakitori Chicken Skewers and Gyozas for Rs. 150 each.

Visitors will also be able experience and buy Japanese products from the many stalls that will be displaying unique Japanese products. The participating companies this year include JNTO (Japan National Tourism Organization), Canon, Panasonic Appliances, DentalPro, ANA, Kikkoman Corporation, Nissin Cup Noodles, Hakubaku Oomugi Barley, Kirin Beverages, Yakult, Hamamoto Corporation, DNP and Yummy Japan.

“I wish Mumbaikars will enjoy all these activities and I am sure Cool Japan Festival 2015 will further strengthen and cement the ties of friendship between India and Japan”, commented, Mr. Yoshiaki Ito, the Consul-General of Japan in Mumbai.

On this occasion, Mr Rajendra Kalkar, Senior Centre Director (West), The Phoenix Mills Limited said, “Japanese culture has overwhelmed the city year on year with some fantastic performances, food, art and music.
