This festival season celebrate with Growel’s 101 mall as they usher their Dipawali with a plethora of celebrations. To promote a cracker-free Dipawali, this year the mall explores the colours of Dipawali in a never seen before spectrum through one of the most recognizable element of Diwali – Rangoli. The festivity starts from 27th October to 15th November, which will be comprises of different activities like workshops, competitions and performances.
The 20-day fest will include dance performances like Chirmi dance by regional folk dancers showcasing the cultural richness of our country. Also, to engage the kids the mall has planned, various rangoli and craft competitions, dance workshop, diya, lantern & card making workshop.
Visitors can also learn to make mouth-watering dishes by attending cookery sessions by expert Chefs.
To add to these glitterati, the atrium has been decorated with traditionally crafted danglers all over & colourful rangoli to celebrate the festival of prosperity & wealth. The entrance is embellished with decorative lights, lanterns & ‘Diya’ to welcome goddess of wealth.
Workshop and Competitions Details:
Rangoli Carpet Challenge - Date: 27th October to 15th November
Shoppers would be invited to showcase their rangoli making skills in the rangoli carpet challenge. A platform will be provided where the customers can design their own rangoli. Best Rangoli creation will be awarded with gifts and vouchers
Rangoli Hour - Date: 27th October to 15th November from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
With the help of experts the shoppers will get an opportunity to get an exposure on the fine art of Rangoli making. The methods will range from using synthetic colours, to natural colours, from materials from everyday use, to grains like rice and wheat. More exotic would be using flowers and lamps to create the magic of Dipawali with sight and aroma
Diya, Lantern & Card making workshop - Date: 27th October to 15th November from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Kids can learn various techniques of diya painting, lantern and card making in the workshop. For diya painting, the decor elements will vary from hand paint to shells etc. Lantern making method will range from fabric, paper, wire frame, thread. Re-cycled materials will be used to design Dipawali card.
Dance Show - Date: 8th November from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Folk dancers to perform traditional Chirmi dance dancers showcasing the cultural richness of our country.
Dance Workshop - Date: 27th October to 15th November from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM
These sessions will encourage budding dancer to hone their dancing skills. A customized dance workshop which would used Rangoli as a theme and train up kids to do a grand performance on Dipawali. The training would be done under the guidance of the well known children's choreographer Ustad Irfan. His team will train up the kids for 19 days and on the eve of Dipawali they will perform as a team
Sweet Making Workshop - Date: 27th October to 15th November from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Expert Chef would open up his secrets on how he creates the magic of traditional Indian sweets. Shoppers will get not only to taste the creations, but also a 1 hour workshop everyday will take them through the time tested method of creating these cuisines.
